Skating Lessons / Kids' Learn-to-Skate Program With a Difference

Looking for a longer term children's 'learn-to-skate' program that lasts longer than 8-9 weeks? Consider this learn-to-skate program offered by Etobicoke Ringette. Held at Centennial Arena in West Toronto, skating lessons run 20 weeks from September to March.

After the New Year, they'll give the kids a stick and teach them basic ringette skills. Learning to skate proceeds even faster, because now, a game's involved. There's a reason to pay attention to skating as there's a payoff!

Etobicoke Ringette is where my younger daughter learned to skate properly. In the Toronto City Parks & Rec programs, she learned to skate, but didn't want to learn to stop. It was just too much fun to sit down and slide into the boards or outdoor snow bank (on the rinks that were iced-over tennis courts).
