One Week After the Ice Storm #DarkTO is Almost Over

With a big melt over the last 2 days, much of the ice coating from the Dec 21 storm that left much of Toronto in the dark is gone.

The neighbourhood looks less like a war zone, although there are piles of branches and broken tree limbs and a few houses with generators still running.

Some of our downspouts are still full of ice.  Not to complain though - we were one of the relatively lucky ones, with power out for about 27 hours.  Toronto Hydro tweeted that 725 customers are still without power today. It's slow work.  Some complicated repairs are taking many hours. Toronto Hydro hopes to have the balance restored by end of today.

Thank you to all who've been working round the clock to getting power back, particularly those from out of town and province.
